Even though I lived in Japan for over 10 years and took thousands of pictures, I only was able to capture photographs after watching a course from Adam Marelli in 2016. Adam leads photography tours in Kyoto to capture the workshops of traditional Japanese craftsmen. He calls this style ‘Cultural Photography’, and I find it reminiscent of work by Johannes Vermeer. I first attended his Kyoto workshop in 2018 and will be joining again fall of 2019. Here are photos from Adam’s workshops in Kyoto, and my own travels in Japan.

No spam. I promise. Just a simple email when I return from a trip and post new pictures. Maybe someday I’ll try and sell a calendar, or some prints. I’ll send an email if/when that happens, too.
